Following the tragic shootings in Arizona by a mentally unstable 22 year old on Saturday, the nation has been flooded with attempts to link the shooter with conservatives, Tea Party members, Christians and others considered by the media to be in the American right wing. There is no evidence to link the killer with anyone on the right, but that fact hasn't stopped liberal commentators from accusing Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and other known conservatives and Christians from being some how complicit in the murderous acts of a lone psychopath.

Are there any prophetic implications to these developments? In The End of America I wrote: “Also, we should expect re-adoption of the misnamed ‘Fairness Doctrine’. This would have the effect of shutting down talk shows that include discussions of topics and officials not favored by those in power” (p. 125). The book in chapter six (The Daughter of Babylon’s Persecution of God’s People) describes what prophecy tells us will happen in the end times in that rich, powerful and influential nation. “What happens to God’s people when He turns them over to the Daughter of Babylon? Jeremiah prophesies that ‘strangers’ will ‘come into the sanctuaries of the LORD’s house’, leading God’s people to be ‘confounded’ and held to ‘reproach’ and to ‘shame’. It could refer to uninvited trespassers coming into the church and disrupting God’s people in their worship” (p. 117).

Pima County’s Sheriff blamed talk radio and those who speak words of “anger, hatred and bigotry that goes on in this country” for causing the killings in Arizona. Even though the shooter had listed as one of his favorite books the Communist Manifesto, many media commentators nevertheless linked him with religious Americans and political conservatives. One media outlet reported that the shooter had used two initials in a symbol which it said meant “Christian”.

There are two prophetic references, both in Jeremiah 51, to civil unrest in the Daughter of Babylon, prior to its destruction. Jeremiah 51:38 prophesies that “Her people all roar like young lions, they growl like lion cubs”. Verse 39 describes the people of the Daughter of Babylon as being “aroused”. Even more telling is this prophecy in verse 51:49: “one rumor comes this year, another the next, rumors of violence in the land and of ruler against ruler”.

Thus, we can expect to see increasing levels of civil unrest and violence in America. What has been set in motion by the increasing electoral strength of the Tea Party, and by the orchestrated negative reaction against conservatives and Christians following the Arizona shootings, will only grow in intensity in the days ahead. There will be increasingly widespread and organized efforts to shut down the Rush Limbaughs, Sarah Palins, Glenn Becks and other known conservatives and Christians across the land. Those whose First and Second Amendment rights are being taken from them won’t like it, and are most likely to fight back, leading to the “violence in the land” that Jeremiah describes. These future events will lead to the government of the Daughter of Babylon’s persecution of God’s people. That could easily have a significant advantage because under persecution many will flee the nation, just as God nine times in his prophetic scripture warns His people to do. A door was opened in Tucson last Saturday that will not soon, if ever, be closed.

Any Christian student of the Bible who is alive today, but who is not perceiving Biblically prophesied events unfolding before their eyes, should check their pulse. The world is not only changing, it is changing towards what God told us in His Word would happen as the end of days approached. This is not yet ‘the day of the Lord’, but it is clearly the beginning of ‘the end times’. How do we know that?

First and clearly foremost, Israel has been restored as a nation. That, of course, has been true since 1948. Miraculous though its restoration has been, just as stunning is the fact that the world is increasingly antagonistic towards this little country, populated with only a relative handful of Jewish residents. Bishops assemble in Rome and attack Israel for purportedly causing the problems of the Middle East; European nations regularly assail Israel for its supposed intransigence in not giving up its land as quickly as they would demand; and the President of the United States, returning to Indonesia (where he was enrolled as “a Muslim student” – CBS News – 11/9/10) attacked Israel for zoning decisions made in its capital city. Amazing. What other nation in the world, do European leaders, or the American President, regularly attack in such a vicious manner? It seems that one can be mildly critical of other nations’ policies, that’s diplomacy, after all, but when it comes to Israel, any comment, any derogatory comment is fair game.

So, where is this all heading? Our President is headed back to the US soon. He has made it clear that ‘bringing peace to the Middle East’ is the next major goal of his administration. If anyone wonders how the President will approach the peace issue, they should ponder the President’s comments while in South East Asia, that there are “enormous obstacles” in the Middle East peace process. Since he had just hours before described Israel’s zoning decisions as “not helpful”, it was not too difficult to connect the dots, as the world’s media quickly did, and trumpet that the President was assailing Israel, again. The fact that he attacked Israel while visiting the nation in which he was a student in a Muslim school was not coincidental. Indonesia is the world’s most populous Muslim nation.

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the President’s calculated attacks with one of his own: “Jerusalem is not a settlement; Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Israel”. The New York Times described Netanyahu’s reaction as markedly different from his contrite apology after Israel announced more housing units in Jerusalem before an earlier meeting with VP Joe Biden. The paper opined that the new tone by Netanyahu was a result of last week’s mid term election defeat for the Administration. That, of course, is a distinct possibility, but what is without dispute is that the US Administration is about to pressure Israel in a quite significant way. With the election cycle now heading towards November 2012’s Presidential election, the push will be by the Administration to arrange/force/induce a Middle East Peace Treaty . The obvious electoral goal will be to face the voters in less than 24 months and proclaim: “Though many others have tried, and failed, to create PEACE in the Middle East, this Administration was able to do so”.

When it happens, when you turn on Fox News and witness a US arranged “PEACE TREATY” between Israel and its enemies, get ready, fasten your seat belts, because that world shaking event will start the clock. Ezekiel (50 and 51) prophesies that Gog (Russia) Persia (Iran) and other now Muslim nations will invade Israel, but not until it is at peace and dwelling safely. For those who have studied scripture’s description of a rich, powerful and influential end times nation, a/k/a the Daughter of Babylon, and who understand that it will be destroyed when it betrays Israel when it is invaded, they should “start packing” to flee the Daughter of Babylon, once the ink is drying on the “peace treaty” forced by the USA.

Waiting on a jury to bring back its verdict. That’s what this period in human history feels like. What will happen in the mid-term elections in America on November 2^nd? What will happen in the “peace negotiations” in the Middle East? What do these converging events have to do with prophecy?

How will the upcoming US elections affect the “peace process”? Arutz Israel, a publication of Israeli National News, on Monday opined that American pressure “is likely to get even worse after the elections”. This informed opinion is based on the fact that the Palestinian Authority did not drop out of the “peace talks” when Israel let the freeze on new construction in Judea and Samaria expire recently. Arutz Israel described what is happening this way: “Rather than the Palestinian Authority dropping out of talks with Israel as it said it would, the Arab League has decided to give U.S. President Barack H. Obama another month to pressure Israel…Israeli officials are bracing themselves for a full-court press by Obama to push Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu…the question most Israelis are asking themselves, of course, is whether Netanyahu can stand up to the pressure.”

On Tuesday PM Netanyahu tried to defuse the intense pressure that will surely come from the US after next month’s elections. He offered to again freeze new construction if the Palestinians “recognize Israel as the Jewish national homeland”. A Palestinian spokesman responded by saying the PM’s proposal was “unacceptable”. The rejection came as no surprise, as Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in a Saturday speech to the Arab League attacked Israel for “Judaizing” Jerusalem, calling for “international observers to come stop the ‘Judaization process” and claiming that Israel posed a danger to Muslim and Christian holy places. A high-ranking Israeli official, Vice PM Ya’alon, responded to the statement by Abbas by saying “Their refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state shows they have no interest in having Israel as a state beside theirs”. Just so. Jihadists and their friends and members in the Arab League have made it abundantly clear that a Jewish state should be located in Canada or in Europe, anywhere but where God planted it millennia ago.

So, once the votes are counted in American polling booths, and once the US President returns from an eleven day ‘get out of Dodge after the election’ trip to India, what can we expect? Prophecy specifically describes Israel as at peace and not suspecting war, i.e., in a peace treaty relationship with its enemies, when it is invaded by Iran (Persia) and Russia (Gog) (Ezekiel 38 and 39). Thus, we know that, eventually, Israel will bend and bow to the world’s pressures, led by the US, and “make peace” with its sworn enemies, exactly what God told them in scripture not to do. He criticizes ancient Egypt, one of Israel’s treaty partners in this way: “You have been a staff of reed for the house of Israel. When they grasped you with their hands, you splintered and you tore open their shoulders; when they leaned on you, you broke and their backs were wrenched.” (Ezekiel 29:6). Stay tuned. Late this year and early next year PM Netanyahu will begin to feel like a piñata, as the US orchestrates maximum pressure on Israel’s leader. Some of that world pressure accelerated this week when France threatened to recognize a “unilateral declaration of statehood by the Palestinian Authority” if it becomes dissatisfied with progress in the “final status talks”. Even the phrase is ominous, as Hitler described his plans to exterminate Jewish residents of Europe as “the final solution”. Dr. Sumrall wrote a book several years entitled “Jerusalem – Where Die”. America will some day regret its role in forcing Israel to give up the land, which God said not to do, and pressuring Israel to enter into a peace treaty, which He also warned Israel not to enter into, as its “peace partners”, as did Egypt, will inevitably disappoint Israel. Only God protects Israel.

Sometimes really important people reveal things that normal folks would tend to keep in confidence. This principle of life popped up again in Saturday’s WALL STREET JOURNAL. Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair told the WSJ that he is “absolutely sure (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu) would sign a deal” making peace with the Palestinians.

What is Tony Blair doing today that would make his “absolutely sure” statement of any importance? On the same day that Blair
announced that he was stepping down as PM of Great Britain, he also announced that he had been chosen as the Special Envoy for “the Quartet”. What’s the Quartet? A new music group? Well, sort of, it’s just the tune they are playing is more a funeral dirge than a dance tune. The Quartet is made up of the United Nations, the United States, the European Union and Russia. That’s quite a power group, to say the least.

What is the purpose of the Quartet, also known as the Quartet on the Middle East, the Diplomatic Quartet or the Madrid Quartet? It was formed in 2002 in order to ‘bring peace to the Middle East’. Blair has made several high level trips to the Middle East to attempt to persuade leaders of Israel and the Muslim states that surround it into reaching a peace agreement.

So, would Tony Blair be in a good position to know whether or not Israel will agree to a peace treaty with its Arab enemies? No one could know better, except for Netanyau himself. In January, 2010, PM Netanyahu announced that he would agree to a peace treaty by the end of 2011. Shortly thereafter, he said he could agree to a “Two State Solution”, even though he ran for office opposed to such a plan.

If you are an American Christian or Jew, what does all of this have to do with you? Readers of “The End of America” know that the Bible tells us that when Israel is gathered back in the land (whch happened officially in May, 1948) it will eventually enter into a peace agreement, and when at peace, it will be invaded by Iran (Persia) and Russia (Gog). Though God tells Israel repeatedly not to make peace agreements with other nations, and also not to give up the land, Israel is posed to do both. The world is pressuring Israel to do so, and, as confirmed by Quartet (UN, US, EU and Russia) Special Envoy Tony Blair, Israel is going to bend under the pressure, and will sign a peace agreement.

But, what about this week’s dust up over the lifting of the building moratorium in the West Bank? Don’t expect that the Obama initiated peace talks will be derailed. They may be slowed, but they won’t be stopped. Why? The fix is in. There will be a peace treaty, after 60 years of attempts. The incumbent in the White House wants to run for re-election, starting right after this November’s mid-term elections, as the only American President in six decades who could ‘bring peace to the Middle East’.

Shouldn’t Christians and Jews want peace in our times in Israel? No. Because the peace won’t be a real peace, but only a means of lulling Israel into a false sense of security (Ezekiel 38). Then, BOOM, Iran and Russia, joined by other Muslim nations, will land-invade Israel in an attempt to throw Israel’s residents into the sea.Israel will cry out to its only true friend, the USA. But, alas, prophecy reveals that the Daughter of Babylon/America will betray Israel, refuse to come to her assistance (contrary to our March 26, 1979 military defense agreement) and will be destroyed because of our treachery (Genesis 12:3). For those who are carefully watching the signs of the times, as Jesus warned us to do, the events swirling in the Middle East bode ill for Israel, and for America. Istead of pushing Israel to give up land and security to its enemies, the US should instead be helping Israel arm against what is surely coming its way. Pray for Israel.

Within the next 48 hours the President of the United States will attempt to do what none of his predecessors have managed to do – arrange a peace agreement between the sovereign nation of Israel and its Palestinian enemies. Will it work? Will Israel bow to global pressure to give up its God-given land? Simply stated, the pressure is on – really on. Secretary of State Clinton has stated that the conflict in the Middle East “frustrates” U.S. goals around the world. Did you get that? Israel’s refusal to ‘give up and give in’ is causing problems for America in its relations with other nations. That would be like your neighborhood association claiming that if you would just deed over your back yard to the neighbor who hates you and has been harassing you with garbage thrown over your fence, there would be ‘peace in the hood’. Don’t you want world peace?

The President recently told Saudi King Abdullah II that “I agree that we cannot talk forever; that at some point steps have to be taken so that people can see progress on the ground…and that will be something that we expect to take place in the coming months.” What “steps” will the U.S. take to cause PM Netanyahu to bend and give up the land? It is not to be forgotten that in PM Netanyahu’s first term in office he gave up Hebron to the Palestinians. Was Hebron of any importance? Well, Abraham, Sarah, Joseph and most of the patriarchs are actually buried in Hebron, now in the hands of Israel’s sworn enemies. The nature of what we are about to witness was revealed earlier this year when PM Netanyahu announced, contrary to his earlier campaign promises, that he could live with a ‘two state solution’, i.e., giving up ‘land for (purported) peace’.

Many in the media are reporting that a peace treaty within the next year is not a likely outcome. Don’t count on it. The Administration is clearly planning on pushing through history’s first ever Israeli/Palestinian Peace Agreement prior to the Presidential election of November, 2012. Imagine running for re-election as ‘the man who made peace after centuries of bloody conflict’, etc., etc. Great campaign material. Plus, as the New York Times recently (August 26, 2010) noted, “There isn’t a lot to negotiate…If an independent Palestinian state is to be established, the zone of agreement is clear and the necessary trade-offs are already known.” The Times optimistically opined that “In short, the negotiating environment is better suited to peacemaking today than it has been at any point in the last decade.” Plan on world wide headlines announcing an historic Middle East peace treaty before the August, 2011 deadline.

Prophecy confirms that when Gog/Russia and Persia/Iran invade Israel (Ezekiel 38 and 39) that Israel will be “at rest (and) that dwell safely” and “in that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely”. Today Israel is not dwelling safely. But, prophecy confirms that Israel will, once again, fall for the illusive peace treaty that God warned Israel against, and will pay for when the massive invasion is launched. At that time, Israel will cry out to the nation that pushed it into the Israel/Egypt peace agreement with a written promise to come Israel’s military assistance, if Israel were ever to be invaded. As the Daughter of Babylon, the United States will desist, turn its head, thus betraying Israel. It will itself be destroyed because of what it will do to curse Israel (Genesis 12:3). Thus, no one should be surprised in the next twelve months or so to witness America forcing Israel to agree to a peace treaty that will eventually be broken with a bloody invasion, while the prime advocate of that treaty stands back, failing to come to Israel’s support. Once the peace treaty is signed, a ten year time clock will start. Islam teaches that it’s permissible to enter into a peace agreement with the Kafir (heathen), but the agreement must not be honored for more than ten years. So, from the date of the drying of the ink on the treaty, the invasion will happen within some time period of not more than ten years. Keep that timing in mind as decisions are made as to when to flee America. (Chapter 16 – When Do We Leave?). God bless.

Last Friday the President hosted a Ramadan Dinner at the White House. The problem was not that the Muslim holiday was celebrated in the East Room of the Executive Mansion, but what was said by our nation’s leader to the Muslims present, and through the media, to the world. Our nation’s CEO waded into a zoning controversy in New York City. He included in his speech at the Ramadan Dinner carefully prepared words. Though no one forced him to do so, he took a formal position on whether a several story, multi-million dollar Mosque should be erected near the site of the destroyed World Trade Center, taken down by Jihadists on 9/11/01. He forcefully said that those behind the building of the Mosque had every right to do so. "Muslims have the right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country," President Obama said.  "And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan."

Any fifth grader knows that in the US the various religions have the right to “practice their religion”. We all know that, under appropriate zoning guidelines, the nation’s religions may build their places of worship in any state, in any city, anywhere they choose. By purposely weighing in on what is essentially a local zoning issue, the President made it a national issue, and seriously hurt his public support in the process. Did he know that his words would ignite a political fire storm? Of course, as before his speech several polls showed that an astounding 70% of Americans oppose the building of the Mosque near the site of the murder of over 3,000 Americans on 9/11.

The question is why? Why oppose such clear majorities? Why take such a forceful pro-Muslim position? The President in Ohio today was asked by a reporter at a public event if he had any regrets about his pro-Mosque statements? Video clips showed that when he was asked, he was shaking hands with a voter, but when he heard the question, he straightened up, hesitated for a full five seconds, and then over his shoulder replied forcefully: “The answer is --- No regrets”. Humn. A chance to repair the damage, but the opportunity declined. Again. Why?

A review of the video of the statement made at the Ramadan Dinner shows a determined, jaw forward manner of delivery. It was if the President felt the need to lecture America’s 70% who opposed the Mosque, and by the moral suasion of his words, move them to change their minds and support the Mosque. When the nation expressed incredulity at his statements, after he’d had two days to think about it, he even more forcefully said “No regrets”. What does that mean for the future?

This incident should cause students of Bible prophecy to take note of what just happened. Readers of “THE END OF AMERICA” and students of end times prophecies know that there are 220 verses in the Old and New Testament, written by five Prophets, describing a great end times, rich, powerful and influential nation (described as Babylon the Great and the Daughter of Babylon), that will be destroyed because it betrays Israel, when Israel is invaded by a coalition of nations, including modern day Russia and Iran (see Ezekiel 37-39). Ask yourself if any American President since Israel was first recognized by Harry S Truman would have betrayed Israel in its time of imminent destruction. Though obviously there were various levels of support by Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush 41, Clinton and Bush 43, none would have stabbed Israel in the back if it had been invaded when they were President. Carter, his current denigration of Israel notwithstanding, was the President that signed the Memorandum of Agreement with Israel on March 26, 1979, pledging that the US will come to Israel’s defense “on an urgent basis” if Israel is the subject of “an armed attack”.

Thus, until the inauguration of the current President, the US has consistently had a President who would have sprung to Israel’s defense, if Israel had been attacked. The majority support of Americans for Israel undoubtedly had much to do with this consistent level of support by Presidents from both major political parties. But, in spite of majority support of Americans for Israel, will the current President come to Israel’s defense when they are attacked in the future? What is quite disturbing about the Friday night Ramadan Dinner prepared speech, and today’s “No regrets” response, is that it shows a disturbing propensity by the President to go against strong American public opinion, if in doing so, he supports Islam. Americans are getting it, as the Pew Poll showed today that increasing numbers of Americans are unsure as to the President’s personal religious affiliation. The fact that he was born, raised and educated in his first years as a Muslim may have something to do with that impression, but those facts have been known for some time. The Cairo and Turkey speeches, $900 million of US tax funds to Hamas, his dismissive treatment of Israel’s Prime Minister and his declaration that America “is not a Christian nation” add further support to those who believe that he could be the first United States President who may betray Israel. We need to pray that he will not be the President whose treachery against God’s chosen nation leads to the destruction of our nation.

What do America’s media really think about Israel? Comedian Jon Stewart recently made this joke on his show:

“Let’s begin tonight with a bit of media news. You may remember that a seat in the White House press room became available a few months back when Helen Thomas retired after telling Jews to leave Palestine and go back home to Germany. Ironically, Thomas’ retirement led to a territorial dispute over who would get her tiny, purely symbolic piece of land.”

Tiny? Yes. Purely symbolic? That may be what America’s media think, but it’s certainly not what the Bible tells us God thinks. He even says in Jeremiah 31:7 that Israel is the “greatest of the nations”. So much for “American exceptionalism”!! In our eyes we Americans pridefully believe that our nation is #1. In God’s eyes, He has a different view. We harm Israel at our great peril (Genesis 12:3).

So what has the US been doing to Israel since mid-April when it sent Special Envoy George Mitchell to Israel to inform Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel will have to give up its nuclear weapons (besides part of its land) as the price for peace? The Gulf Oil Spill and the great Tennessee floods started the very next day.

What America has been doing is not good. America’s President met with Netanyahu in the Oval Office for a widely publicized photo op, but what’s happening behind the scenes, away from the cameras, is frightening. “Peace talks” between Israel and its Arab foes are now indirect. The Obama Administration is pressing for direct, face-to-face talks. The New York Times recently reported that the US has obtained a promise by Israel that it will continue its moratorium on new construction permits in its own land, in exchange for direct talks with Palestinians. Expect an announcement of direct “peace talks” before the end of September.

Lurking in the background is America’s broken promise to Israel that it would not sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Resolution which criticized Israel for its nukes. The Times reported that “some in Israel viewed it (America’s broken promise) as a sign of the unreliability of the United States, Israel’s most important ally.” Will we be a reliable ally, or will we invite another “divine sign” of retribution for harming the apple of God’s eye – Israel? Our prayers need to be that this Nation will never betray Israel. If we do, it will be THE END OF AMERICA.

A trick learned early by those who rise to political power is to release bad or negative news to the media on the eve of holidays. Thus, on July 4th America’s media reported the following news. Did you read or hear about it? Most likely, as with most Americans, you were otherwise occupied. What was the news that those in power preferred you not notice?

U.S. DOESN’T HAVE PLAN TO KEEP OUT NUKES

The July 4th media reported that even though US taxpayers have spent “more than $200 million” to develop a plan for “preventing terrorists from detonating a nuclear bomb in the United States”, the Government Accountability Office (the investigative arm of Congress) has discovered that there is no plan and there are no nuclear screening devices in place to protect America. Wow. That’s some sentence, worth re-reading. Five years of work and $200 million, and no results.

The importance? The Daughter of Babylon, after it stabs Israel in the back when it’s invaded by Gog/Russia and Persia/Iran, is destroyed in “one day”, “one hour” and “one moment”. That can only happen with nuclear devices, which America now admits, in mid-2010, it is unable to detect, prior to detonation. The GAO’s Report noted that there are three main “pathways” into the US for the smuggling of nuclear devices: a.) land border areas between ports of entry, b.) international general aviation and c.) small maritime craft. The Report said that “these pathways are important because dangerous quantities of nuclear and radiological material can be small and portable enough to be carried across land borders by vehicles or pedestrians, on most private aircraft, or by small maritime craft”, noting that there are “at least 13 million registered domestic pleasure craft in the United States and 110,000 commercial fishing vessels.”

Should the potential for smuggled nukes concern us? Well, the importation into the US of narcotics is a felony violation, yet billions of dollars of illegal drugs are smuggled, illegally, into the US every year. If we can’t stop drugs, why do we think we can stop nuclear material and devices? How many nukes are already here? Where are the missing Soviet “suitcase nukes”? The GAO chillingly concluded that the Department of Homeland Security “does not have a strategic plan for the global nuclear detection architecture”.

Our nation commenced on July 4th. 234 years later, on the same day, our media reported how unprepared we are to protect ourselves from destruction. When Israel walked with Him, he did so. On the flip side, much the Old Testament records what happened when Israel walked contrary to God and His revealed Word. Why would we think that we are immune from the same justice when we violate the Word, and when we curse Israel? The July 4th GAO Report should be a chilling warning that we are approaching, maybe even hastening towards, days of destruction. We need to pray that America will follow God’s Word and that we bless, not curse, Israel. Genesis 12:3.

It doesn’t take much knowledge of prophecy to see that this world is rapidly accelerating towards darker days. Examples abound:

The Gulf of Mexico oil spill started the day after the US informed Israel that it would have to give up its nukes as part of peace treaty to be concluded by the end of 2011. Since April 18^th, try as they may, neither BP, nor the USA, nor any of their experts, have been able to stop that which God started. That is the message that He gives us in His Word. He’s in charge – and we’re not, even though we like to think we are. We think if we throw enough money at the economic downturn, or enough invective at Israel, or enough concrete and mud at the oil well head, that everything will be just fine. We think these things because we don’t believe what God says in His Word.

A ‘TRUCE’ ON THE FIGHT AGAINST ABORTION?

An illustration of this human failing took place in Indiana recently. The State’s Republican Governor (rumored as a candidate for President) called for “a truce” on the nation’s social issues, in order to concentrate on the financial matters facing the nation. Translation: let’s forget about the aborting of a million Americans in the womb every year and other abominations in the nation, focusing instead on fixing our problems with the almighty dollar and ---- it will all come out in the end. Is that how it works? Can a nation forget God and His rules and be blessed by Him? “That nation only is blessed whose God is the Lord”. The Governor, incredibly supported in his call for a “truce” by two “conservative” leaders politically linked with the Governor, was only expressing what many believe, i.e., God is not really involved in current events. They’re wrong.

IS THE PRESIDENT A MUSLIM?

So, where is America headed? Readers of “The End of America” know that 220 verses written by five different Prophets, in both Testaments, warn that an end times nation of great power will betray Israel and be destroyed because of its treachery. No modern U.S. President would have done so, until now. Pam Geller’s revelation that the current occupant of the White House has recently stated to the Foreign Prime Minister of Egypt “in confidence, that he was a Muslim” should cause many to be concerned. Geller quotes the Egyptian official as saying that he was told by the President that “after he straightened out domestic issues (he) would show the Muslim world how to handle Israel”. The U.S. has a military defense agreement with Israel. Will we honor and keep our sworn word when Israel is attacked (Ezekiel 38/39)? The stage is being set for the US to betray Israel, once Israel signs the peace treaty that the US is pushing it so hard to agree to sign.

IS AMERICA FALLING INTO A TRAP?

If the US betrays Israel, would the nation actually suffer for it? Doesn’t the “hammer of the whole” earth have such strength and military preparedness that it could successfully resist any attacks? Peggy Noonan’s column in the WSJ quotes the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Justice as saying that the Department, which is charged with coordination of law enforcement after a major terrorist attack, is “totally unprepared”. “No one’s in charge here” the IG stated. Jeremiah looked forward into time at the fate of the coming Daughter of Babylon and records God as saying “I set a trap for you, O Babylon, and you were caught before you knew it; you were found and captured because you opposed the Lord.” (Jeremiah 50:24) “At the sound of Babylon’s capture the earth will tremble; its cry will resound among the nations.” (Jeremiah 50:46).

ARE JIHADISTS ‘LEGITIMATELY’ KILLING OTHERS?

Is America/Daughter of Babylon even remotely aware of the enemy facing it? John Brennan, the President’s chief counterterrorism adviser in a speech in May at the Center for Strategic and International Studies chided Americans for not appreciating Islam’s “peace-loving disposition”. He excused terrorists’ acts by claiming that “violent extremists are victims of political, economic and social forces”. Amazingly, he also said that we should not refer to our enemies as “jihadists” because “jihad is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam”. Tell that to the families of the hundreds of thousands of dead through the centuries who have been slaughtered by jihadists. ‘Sorry about the death of your loved one, but you must understand that it’s just a legitimate tenet of my religion’ .

WHEN WILL THESE THINGS BE? ISRAEL AT PEACE

So, where are we, timing wise, in these prophesied events? As Jesus’ disciples asked him in Matthew 24 – ‘when will these things be?’ The betrayal of Israel comes when it is invaded by Russia, Iran and their allies (Ezekiel 38/39), which happens when Israel is at peace, a “peaceful and unsuspecting people” (Ezekiel 38:11). Israel today is not at peace nor unsuspecting. But America’s President, the UN, the European Union and other nations of the world are increasing the pressure on Israel to give up its land, in exchange for “peace”. In January of this year, the President said there would be a peace treaty within two years, by the end of 2011. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in March agreed with the time projection of a peace agreement by the end of 2011. These two men should know when this world-changing event is planned to occur.

WHEN WILL THESE THINGS BE?

DOMESTIC UNREST AND PERSECUTION

Before the Daughter of Babylon falls, it will experience domestic unrest (Jeremiah 51:38) and the nation will witness the persecution of believers (Isaiah 47:6). We are seeing increasing signs of both: a.) a coalition of 30 liberal organizations has filed a petition with the Federal Communications Commission requesting it to “monitor hate speech” on talk radio and cable news networks (Newsmax, June 2, 2010); b.) the US House will soon vote on the “DISCLOSE” Act (HR 5175), which will criminalize certain unfavored speech by advocacy groups such as right to life organizations (National RTL – May 27, 2010); c.) the US government announced Friday that will sue Arizona for adopting a law codifying what the US Congress adopted years ago, that illegal immigrants can be deported; d.) the President declared June, 2010 to be “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month”.

It wouldn’t actually take much for these matters to accelerate into major events. It took one mass shooting in Australia to lead the Australian to take away all guns owned by all Australians. Likewise, one widely-covered instance of violence (or a similar event), described as being committed, or even instigated, by Christians, or “right wingers” or Tea Party members, etc., could be used to justify “cracking down on the perpetrators”. Thus, we could be just one major news story away from the acceleration of the fulfillment of these domestic violence and persecution prophecies. Only prayer may be holding it back today.

We are truly a nation unprepared for darker days.

When America blockaded Cuba in October, 1962 to prevent weapons from arriving from the USSR, the world understood. Russia blinked, backed down and withdrew its ships.

When Israel blockaded Gaza last week to prevent weapons from arriving to arm Hamas, the world attacked……Israel. How dare Israel protect itself! As a result of the international outcry, those who seek to arm Hamas and inflame the Middle East will be encouraged to try again.

The pre-planned attempt to cause an international incident by ‘breaking the blockade’ was all but inevitable once the United States caved in on Arab demands that Israel give up its nuclear weapons. In 1995 Arab nations first publically called on a UN resolution for a “Nuclear Free Middle East”, which, of course, since only Israel has nuclear weapons in the Middle East, would have the effect of disarming Israel of its nukes. For 15 years the proposal went no where, with consistent US opposition to the proposal.

That changed last week when the US joined with 188 other member nations of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty to approve a 2012 international conference “on the establishment of a Middle East zone free of nuclear weapons and all other weapons of mass destruction.” In mid-April US Special Envoy George Mitchell informed Israel that it was dropping its opposition to the Arab-originated idea to disarm Israel. The next day the floods started in Tennessee and the BP oil spill started in the Gulf of Mexico. The smartest people in the world have been unable to staunch the huge flow of oil in the Gulf, which must surely continue as we continue to push Israel to give up its lands and its weapons of self defense.

The Bible tells us that in the end times “all nations” of the world will turn on Israel (Joel 3:2). The Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty looks like a preview of things to come. What must really hurt our Israeli friends is that for decades the US has been complicit with Israel in maintaining plausible deniability as to whether Israel actually has nukes. By our past silence on the issue we have helped Israel. Now, however, our signature to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty affirms that there are nuclear weapons in the Middle East that must be destroyed, otherwise we do we need such a Treaty? God has not withdrawn his Genesis 12:3 promise. America is not blessing Israel, but instead cursing Israel. As a result, our nation can expect nothing else in its future days except to see God keep His solemn promise. We are seeing the initial steps of the government of the United States which will eventually lead to stabbing Israel in the back by refusing to come to its military assistance when Russia and Iran invade (Ezekiel 38). That will be The End of America (Jeremiah 50 and 51; Revelation 18, etc.)
